Aviary Brings Excitement
|
| |
No one can walk past the newly-installed Aviary in the living room at McFarlan Home without stopping to watch the many small, colorful birds. Several pairs already have been nesting and there have been babies born. It is fascinating to watch the birds as they fly, eat,and chirp seemingly unaware of their human observers.

New Gazebo and Planters
|
| |
A cedar gazebo has been set up on the lawn of McFarlan to entice residents to chat during the lazy, hazy days of summer. The gazebo was dedicated Oct. 10 in memory of Robert Carl Carpenter, a special McFarlan board member who died earlier this year.
Matching cedar planters are installed near the gazebo for residents to plant and tend their favorite flowers and raise their choices of vegetables. These planters are constructed to allow residents to be able to stand as they garden.
